Tinopai school is a coastal, rural, sole charge kura that caters for tamariki from year 1 to 8 and is situated looking over the beautiful Kaipara Harbour with expansive grounds including native bush and productive gardens. Tinopai school opened on the 13th September 1916 and over 100 years later continues to be the main foci of the Tinopai community.

Annual events include swimming, triathlon, cross country, spring time sports and athletics with neighbouring schools as well as our own Creative Day and world famous Tinopai Fishing Contest.

We are part of the Northern Waiora Kahui Ako with the focus on Wellbeing, Transitions, and Authentic and Meaningful Learning through a developed local curriculum.

Our community is caring and supportive and participates  in tamariki learning and sustainability of our environment. Our students are proud of their school, with a whanau culture and sense of belonging.
